Little Leo the Astronaut climbed into his cozy rocket ship bed, his pajamas soft as moonlight. Outside his window, the universe twinkled like a sea of diamonds. With a gentle click of a button, his rocket lifted off, floating softly through the quiet, velvet sky. First, Leo zoomed past Mercury, a sleepy little planet warming its toes by the sun. Goodnight, Mercury, he whispered, waving his hand. The planet hummed a soft, glowing tune back. Next, he drifted by Venus, bright and peaceful, and then past his favorite, blue Earth, where all his friends were tucked under their blankets. He moved through the asteroid belt, like a dance of sparkling dust, until he reached the mighty Jupiter. Goodnight, giant friend, Leo yawned. Jupiter glowed with a warm, steady light, watching over the deep space. Past the rings of Saturn, which looked like a golden slumber blanket, Leo traveled to the far edges of the stars. Everywhere he looked, he said goodnight. Goodnight to the red dust of Mars, goodnight to the icy blue of Neptune, and goodnight to the millions of distant, twinkling stars that acted as nightlights for the galaxy. Leo felt very small in the vast, wide universe, but he felt very safe, too. He realized that even though the stars were far away, they were all part of the same big family, glowing for each other in the dark. As his rocket turned back toward home, his eyelids grew heavy. He realized that the best part of traveling the whole galaxy was finding his way back to his own soft pillow. The universe was a big, beautiful place, but home was the brightest star of all. Leo landed his rocket softly, snuggled into his blankets, and let out a long, happy sigh. The moon watched through his window, and as Leo drifted into dreamland, the whole universe seemed to tuck him in.
